Resident Summit Recap, Photos and Blog

LUGPA’s Urology Resident Summit and Job Fair was held March 1-2 in Dallas. More than 70 residents were in attendance. Many industry partners and representatives from LUGPA practices were also on site to participate in the job fair and exhibit hall.

"The 2024 LUGPA Resident Summit was fantastic!" said Jason Farr, Vice President, Provider Recruitment at Solaris Health. "The crowd turnout, resident engagement, and panel discussions were top-notch."

"As the premier sponsor, we loved the energy at the Wild West event," said Yasmine Lozano, Physician Recruitment Support Specialist at Solaris Health. "The residents had a blast and gave great feedback. The photo booth, magician, and caricature artist seemed to be big hits and added a fun vibe. Overall, this year's summit was impressive, and we can't wait for the next one."

The Summit covered topics PGY2, 3, 4 and 5 urology residents need to know, including employed urology, careers in private practice, academic urology, employment contracts and finances for young physicians. The program offered residents an opportunity to personally engage with potential employers from some of the largest independent urology practices in the country.

During his "State of Urology 2023" presentation, LUGPA President, Dr. Evan Goldfischer helmed a Star Trek/Kobayashi Maru parody, demonstrating how LUGPA changes the rules of engagement under seemingly unwinnable situations.

Ahead of the Urology Resident Summit, LUGPA Forward leaders Drs. Kari Bailey and David Morris shared their advice for urology residents. They discussed what to consider when choosing a practice, how LUGPA supports residents, and more.

The 2025 Residents Summit and Job Fair will be held Friday, February 28-Saturday, March 1, 2025 at the JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort & Spa in Orlando!  A social event will take place on the property in the outdoor beer garden following the Saturday program.
