Surgical Review Corporation (SRC) and the National Association for Continence (NAFC) have collaborated to create a Center of Excellence in Continence Care for Women (COECCW) accreditation program. Center of Excellence programs recognize hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers and specific medical professionals from their service lines who are committed to achieving defined standards for patient safety and care quality. The COECCW program is focused specifically on facilities that address the needs of those with urinary incontinence, overactive bladder and pelvic organ prolapse. In 2019, LUGPA sponsored a survey to gather industry compensation data for a variety of positions in our member practices. The findings from this salary survey were made available to attendees of the Practice Administrators Workshop at the LUGPA 2019 Annual Meeting in Chicago. To ensure this valuable data is readily available for all LUGPA members, we have included the report here.
Successful independent urology practices are breaking down traditional management silos and embracing a dyad leadership model in which administrators and clinical leaders collaborate under a shared vision. The dyadic leadership model pairs a physician and a nonphysician administrative leader to share equally the responsibility of leading strategic initiatives and working together to achieve improved clinical and operational outcomes. It has been noted in the literature that to succeed as part of a dyad is “a skill set, an art and a science.”
LUGPA is happy to now provide a new page of resources that will help LUGPA practices to operationalize and overcome some challenges with the dyad leadership model. LUGPA members can log in to access the page here.

This year, LUGPA is taking action to help our members expand the voices of independent urologists in their own communities nationwide. As part of this initiative, we will be promoting different awareness events or key policy priorities each month.
LUGPA will provide monthly toolkits to member practices focusing on these topics, including template press releases and sample social posts. This promotion will help to build the leadership of all independent member practices within their communities.
